Aroma
Petitgrain is a crisp and clear oil, with an aroma that is a beautiful and interesting combination of a woody and floral.

The plant
The oil is extracted from the orange tree. Sweet orange essential oil comes from the fruit, neroli essential oil comes from the flowers and petitgrain comes from the leaves and small twigs.

The extraction
Petitgrain oil is extracted from the fresh leaves and small twigs by steam distillation.
The colour of the oil is pale yellow to amber and it is watery in viscosity.

Affects
Petitgrain is antiseptic, and calms muscles and nerves. It also boosts the mind whilst being calming and comforting. When used in natural skincare, Petitgrain can help clear up troubled skin and blemishes.

Interesting fact
It is widely used in pharmaceutical products and perfumery and is the classic ingredient of eau-de-cologne.

Blending
Petitgrain blends well with bergamot, cedarwood, geranium, lavender, Melissa, neroli, rosemary, palmarosa, sandalwood, and ylang ylang.

Suggested directions for use:
Add 6-10 drops in a bath.
Mix 5 drops with water to use in an oil burner.
Mix 6-10 drops with hot water as an inhalation.
Mix 5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil for massage.

Precautions:
Do not take internally.
Keep away from children and eyes.
