These beautiful little hearts are a man made form of Selenite. They are just 3cm at their widest point - but very powerful at their job!
There are a lot of differing opinions about man made crystals. While it is true that they are synthetic and formed in a laboratory rather than made by mother Earth, there are many benefits to purchasing them as opposed to their naturally occurring form. While most are chemically identical and formed with similar manufactured conditions, they are sometimes altered to be more stable and durable than naturally occurring forms of the same crystal. Cat Eye is a great example. Naturally occurring Selenite and Satin Spar crystals are water soluble, difficult to shape and dont accept dyes well. Dyed Satin Spar becomes damaged and blotchy in the colouring process. Selenite is damaged by water.
Crystals formed in a lab are created in a controlled environment where the employees are paid appropriately, with safety measures implemented. It could be argued that the only way to guarantee your crystals are "ethically" sourced is to purchase synthetically formed versions.
Spiritual Energy Cleansing
This is a man-made, lab produced form of Satin Spar (part of the Selenite family) and contains the same properties. It is has been made to be more robust than its naturally occurring siblings, and often found in bright solid colours and 'perfect' shapes. Crystals in the gypsum family are known for being a clearing & purification crystals. Cat Eye can be used to clear the aura from negativity or stuck energy, and to clear crystals by placing them in a bowl with cat eye shapes.
Cat Eye is not only self-charging, but can also charge other crystals. It doesn't suffer from the fragility of other Selenite crystals and so can tolerate small amounts of water or moisture in the air, though it's best to avoid water if possible!
This is without doubt the easiest crystal to look after - as it looks after itself!
