Lithium quartz is a relatively new mineral. It was first discovered in the 19th century.

It is a relatively rare mineral, and is found in only a few places in the world. Lithium quartz is typically found in pegmatites, which are igneous rocks that form deep within the Earth's crust. It is also found in some hydrothermal veins, which are fractures in rocks that are filled with hot water. 

It typically contains pink inclusions, but can also be purple, or blue. The color of lithium quartz is due to the presence of lithium ions in the crystal lattice.
